Hello, friends and family! We're so looking forward to spending our wedding weekend with you. We're excited because we're tying the knot, of course, but also because it's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have loved ones from all different points in our lives together in the same place. We hope you'll get to connect with old friends and make some new ones. We can't wait to dance, laugh, and celebrate with you!
Everything will take place outdoors in a beautiful country setting, and we have long hours to linger. So it's going to be less like a formal wedding and more like an oversized family cook-out — though we're providing the food. The sacredness of this occasion comes from the connections that we share and build together. There will be opportunities to help out, to learn together, to be loud and silly, to share stories, and to peacefully reflect.
Please take some time to explore this site and get a sense of our wedding weekend. If you like to dance, please check out some of the music that we'll be dancing to. We hope this website answers all your questions about our wedding. But if not, please call, text, or email us before July 26th.

Location
The wedding will take place entirely outdoors at the Schlee / Allen farm in Laurens, New York. (Pronounced "Lawrence" — it's an upstate New York thing.) Cell reception is spotty in the area. There's not much parking available at the farm, so instead everyone will park five minutes away at the Laurens Central School and we’ll shuttle guests to and fro.
The farm has limited facilities available, though we'll accommodate folks with special needs as best as we can. In particular, there is effectively no indoor space available, apart from our restroom trailer. Please see the “Setting” page for more details on what to expect at the farm.
Helping Out
Some of our best memories and strongest bonds come from times that we've worked with others to create something together. Though we've done loads of planning up front, there will still be many opportunities for you to help out with the wedding, from making decorations, to helping other guests, to cleaning up. We hope everyone can find a way to pitch in that feels joyful without being burdensome; see more on the "Contributing" page.
Another way to contribute, if you'd like, is our registry.
Lodging
We have reserved rooms at two hotels nearby, and there are several more hotels, plus lots of AirBnBs, within a twenty-minute drive of the wedding. However, lodging gets booked up during the summer in Central New York, so we strongly recommend booking as early as possible, preferably before 5/31. We have several suggestions listed on the “Lodging” page.
Attire
For the day of the wedding, Saturday, please dress in a comfortable, summery, celebratory way. Beyond that, there’s no dress code. If you want more guidance, searching online for "summer garden party attire" or "summer church clothes" won't steer you wrong. We'll be wearing bright colors, and we encourage you to, too!
Dancing will be a major component of the event, so be ready to move! Also be ready to walk on grass; apart from the dancefloor, everything else will be on the lawn. You may want some warm layers for the evening. See the “Setting” page for more details on weather, the “Schedule” page for more on what we have planned, and the packing list.
For Friday and Sunday, you're encouraged to dress more casually — an outfit where a little mud or a grass stain won't ruin your day. You may also want a bathing suit, particularly for Sunday.
Food
We'll be providing snacks and hors d'oeuvres throughout the weekend, as well as one meal each day: a simple dinner on Friday (maybe as simple as just ordering pizza); a full dinner at the wedding reception on Saturday afternoon; and breakfast (mostly leftovers) on Sunday morning. If you'll be at the farm for a long period on Friday or Saturday, please bring a meal with you or eat before you arrive.
The meals and snacks we provide will include options for our vegan and vegetarian friends, as well as multiple meat options for those who avoid specific meats.
Kids at the Wedding
If you have kids, we hope you bring them! The farm is a wonderful place to be a kid, with tons of space to run around. We won’t be providing full child care, but we will have a designated space for young children. We invite anyone who likes spending time with kids to help families out with keeping an eye on the little ones.
Please note that kids five or older who are not vaccinated against COVID must wear masks.
There are a few quieter, out-of-the-way spots if you need more privacy to take care of a child, but please keep in mind that all of the usable space at the farm is outdoors.
